We watched climbers summiting Everest through binoculars at Gorak Shep about 7.30 am on Friday. Was a beaut morning. Then started walking down, within a couple of hours low cloud, cold wind and freezing. Snowed heavy that night and first full day of clouds. Still did a 6 hour walk up the valley. Heard a few climbers died, it really is a harsh environment and changes quickly. Amazing after we descended 1000 mtrs we all got our sense of humour back. At 5200 mtrs walking, eating and sleeping was all we could do!! Have had a couple of long days down 2 llukla, Ham and Dave just flew off 2 Kathmandu, we r walking down 2 Jiri will take about 6 days I think. Then maybe head 2 Pokara for some r & r. Is nice 2 b warm and clean again.

Did you know that the amount of oxygen you would be breathing at the top of Everest is equivalent to the amount of oxygen that a baby receives while it is in the womb. Random thought for the day :) Hope you are well.
