A big day from Tilicho base camp to Yak Karka, up and down and over hills and no tea houses but a nice place to stay at the end. Next day we wandered up to Thorang Pedi -( still a dump Kev! ) to stay before going over the pass. there were 8 of us there for the night. We left about 6.30, everyone else went at 5am. Beautiful clear day. Only took us 3 hrs to the top, obviously fit, carrying no luggage helps and well acclimatised. Joined the rest at the top, 2 Swiss, 2 Americans, 1 from Belgium & 1 from Mauritius. We all shared whatever food we had, chocolate, cheese, crackers, lollies. A knee crunching down to Muktinath, we stopped and looked around the Hindu/Buddest temple sight. Lots of people make a pilgrimage here, particularly Indian people. This is where we walked up to last time we were here. Trevor chatted to the "Sardi's" or holy men as they like to be known. A hard life they have... (Appears like another type of begging to me) photos of some mountain goats, then the pass and the holy men.
